In 1986, Tom was struck by a hit and run driver while riding his motorcycle. He began modeling a few years after the accident and continues to today. Tom found acting to be another passion of his and recently had the opportunity to hook up with Daryl Silva of The Silva Screen Productions in LA where he has acted in a movie, short film and 2 comedy sitcom pilots. Tom is hopeful that Silva will have some success as he is submitting some of them to Sundance! Meanwhile Tom has enjoyed success in a variety of roles such as in public speaking on subjects that include, "Psychology of Disability," "Architectual Access and Disability Awareness" and has also enjoyed some industrial and commercial work as an actor for some training and informational videos. Additionally, as mentioned, print modeling and some television and film acting. Although it is primarily in supporting and background it is with some great companies and distribution such as the Showtime series, "Brotherhood", the Martin Scorsese Award winning hit movie, "The Departed" and the Columbia Pictures released "21." Tom has also been able to stretch his acting skills on the stage in some very good roles in theatre. He is hopeful things change in the entertainment business soon so that the roles and acceptance of those with a disability will expand so that he may continue to pursue his passion for artistic expression and succeed in film and television acting.
