While attending college Kurt was in a motorcycle accident. That resulted in his left leg amputated, his right ACL and MCL were torn, his pelvis was torn in half along with his bladder, seven vertebra were broken, his lungs collapsed, his ribs broken and a severe concussion. Kurt survived and continues to live life to the fullest as an amputee and that certainly includes following his deep passion for acting in film.
