For those of you who do not know me and this is your first time visiting my website, I spent the first 30 years of my life as a healthy able bodied person. In 1995, I fell backwards from the top of a second story external staircase where I had not landed until I was near the bottom and broke three vertebras (Thoracic 7, 8, and 9) in the middle of my back, at which point my spinal cord was completely severed resulting in complete paralysis from that point down.
I am not a victim of circumstances, but a survivor of life with unique challenges and trials that reveal to me who I am and who I can become!
I mention this so you will know that my featured characters who are paraplegics are created, formed and developed from a paraplegic's perspective - and authentic voice and vision of a person with a disAbility living in an able bodied world! This is how most of the people with a disAbility in our 21st century society live - and I hope to raise the awareness of the general public through my creative work as a screenwriter, movie director, a filmmaker, and now as a novelist - just how we live and interact with our family, friends. our environment, co-workers, in and out of the workplace, and to be able to have real inclusion in our culture and entertainment with our own voices, representations, and our own fictional heroes in movies, television, and books!

I appreciate any and all support, encouragement, and assistance in overcoming the entertainment media's often dismissal, or at best stereotypical and token images that are written, directed, and portrayed by well-meaning able bodied people - as I pursue all methods of providing an authentic voice, vision, and representation of paraplegics in the formats that I have a passion - and some say a talent - as a writer and filmmaker in the entertainment industry.
This is my first time moving from short stories, articles, blogs, etc., and into novel writing. If you have any information, contacts, or ways to help me publish this work I appreciate your comments and/or contact. Remember this inclusion of a featured character with a disAbility will go a long way - both directly and indirectly for the 56+ million Americans - and millions more globally - with a disAbility!
Thank you!

I must mention that while making this fictional character in any format an authentic voice and success story is a major victory for all of us with a disAbility, it is only part of my reasoning - the other equally important factor is that I want to get back to my creative work! This part has been lacking after spending so much time the past few years on the business side with my production company, business plans, and all the necessary documents for raising capital from both traditional and independent avenues, and for being an advocate for fair and equal representation for those of us with a disAbility throughout the entertainment industry, along with all the contacting and networking required for all of the above - it is now time for more "London Time"! Time for expanding on the creative side that gives voice and representation for "my people" as paraplegics!

While many popular novels become adapted into screenplays and then developed and produced into movies - I am embarking on the opposite and writing a novel based on my screenplay - "London Time"!
Since Hollywood continues to dismiss an authentically voiced and represented character, the authentic vision of a filmmaker, and even the authentic performance of actors from the disAbled minority group, maybe I can serve this often ignored audience of those with a disAbility (the largest & fastest growing minority), who are very hungry for authentic and non-stereotypical portrayals - as well as mainstream audiences who also love engaging characters brought together in a high stakes crime drama from a unique perspective - by expanding my paraplegic homicide detective London's character into a book format!
So I will present for your entertainment...
LONDON TIME - THE NOVEL

As you can see from the mock book cover displayed above - I am changing the name of the book to "London Time in Dallas", but that is not the only change from the screenplay!
While the main characters, their history, relationships, and character arcs, as well as their introduction to the audience will remain fairly consistent to the "London Time" screenplay - the storyline that moves the characters, the action and plot is changing from the original screenplay!
And first of all here is the new tagline:

|

|
“Homicide Detective London, a paraplegic and old school cop is reunited both professionally and personally with Forensic Detective Marci Waters, who while working on a murder investigation uncover a terrorist plot that may be connected with the upcoming Presidential visit.” |

And next, here is the synopsis with exciting new additions and changes!

Detective London is a modern day, 21st century mix of "Ironside" and "Dirty Harry" who does things his way and whose attitude and physical actions defy most people's stereotypical images of a person using a wheelchair. Detective London is an experienced homicide cop and a paraplegic. He lives by the credo that it takes hard core street investigating, interrogating, and gut feelings to catch criminals. Detective London often resists cooperating with forensic detectives because of the recent popularity of television programs that have anointed them as the new CSI super cops and the image that they are the only ones who can solve today's crimes. London's open expression of the CSI/forensics team and the news media, whom he feels often compromise his investigations, often conflicts with his previous police partners, but are oddly welcomed by the latest, Detective Richmond, a younger, and newly promoted officer whose first assignment as a detective is in the homicide department.
Detective London’s limited personal life is often haunted by the loss of his wife and young daughter. Nightmares reliving the night a drunk driver hit his car taking their lives and leaving him paralyzed nearly 10 years ago, have him often on the edge between life and death. London finds some solace, a means of escape, and self worth in his work solving crimes that put away those responsible in an often unjust world. Despite his traditional methods and often contemptuous attitude that conflicts with the more “politically correct” and “public relations” conscience city Mayor and Chief of Police, London is very successful and will not compromise when it comes to catching criminals.
All runs according to his "London Time" until an old friend, Marci Waters returns to Dallas. The two of them graduated from the Police Academy together 15 years earlier, but after only a few months on the Dallas police force, Marci moved to the northeast. There she continued her career in law enforcement even though it was put on hold while she graduated college with a medical degree specific in research and development. Marci went on to become one of the nation’s most highly regarded top forensic crime scene investigators and actually has returned to Dallas to accept the position as the new head of the forensics’ department!
All three of them come together during the current investigations surrounding the strange circumstances of a homicide that leads Detectives London, Waters, and Richmond on a quest for the truth that appears to be a small part of a much bigger crime - a possible terrorist plot. As some of the clues are uncovered, it looks like this terrorist plot is going to culminate on the same day that the United States President comes to Dallas for a fund raising event.
Could it be an assassination attempt?
Are the terrorists just using the President's visit as a diversionary tactic to distract authorities and misdirect any indications to their plot as just one of many usual "conspiracy theories" that continue to surround Dallas since the JFK assassination, and in an effort to hide a much larger terrorist attack that could kill hundreds, even thousands of people during the President's visit to downtown Dallas?
Without solid evidence, a maze of twists and turns, along with nearly every lead and suspect seemingly to be one step ahead of them, London, Waters, and Richmond are finding it harder and harder to get any support, even from their own police department - not to mention the brush off and mocking laughter they receive when trying to get the attention of the F.B.I., Homeland Security, C.I.A., and the Secret Service, all who feel they have it under control and that these local city police detectives are way out of their element.
Time becomes their only proven enemy as the day of the President's visit quickly approaches.
Will they uncover enough evidence to get the help they need, or have to continue to work against their own police department and federal agencies to stop the terrorist attack and/or assassination attempt before it is too late?
All of this and much more
will be revealed in the novel,
